Product Description
S50C steel is a medium carbon steel offering higher strength and wear resistance than S45C. Through heat treatment, it can achieve a hard, wear-resistant surface, making it excellent for more applications. The primary trade-offs for this performance are reduced toughness and more difficult machining and welding. As its hardenability is limited, it is best applied to components of small to medium size.
S50C material conforms to the JIS standard. As shown in your chart, it is used for manufacturing components such as measuring tapes
